    I like this light for the price, and cannot believe how bright it gets. Even on its lowest setting, it can be blinding. Nonetheless, it is very portable, lightweight, and well made, except for the stand which is a bit flimsy.

    This is a great light, I can’t get over how thin and small it is! Perfect for traveling too, I can easily throw it in my laptop bag or anywhere I’d pack a boook. It’s about the size of a small Kindle. I also like the timer and brightness settings, so I can turn it on and it shuts off automatically when the time is up. (30, 60 or 90 minute options)

    I love this lamp and it works for SAD! I live on the first floor and during cold seasons I might get 1 hour of weak sunlight on the best day. For me, sometimes, the whole day passes in darkness and it makes me feel sleepy, sad, and unmotivated. When I use the lamp my brain thinks it is day light and it’s perfect for studying and working by the desk. Sometimes I forget to regulate and end up being alert late at night, so it is something to keep in mind. I highly recommend it for someone with similar light issues!

    I love this light. It is my second lamp of this type because I had purchased a different one that had the small bulbs showing. It just was glaringly bright, even though it was the same brightness as this. This lamp is much better since the bulbs are covered. I like being able to set/choose the brightness and the timer. I find I am using this one much more and have given the other one away.

    So I have extreme seasonal depression and I wanted to go into this winter with a plan. I got vitamin d vitamins and wanted to try this light box because my therapist recommended it. She said 10,000 lux works the best, to use it within the first hour of waking for 20-30 minutes, and keep it 16-24 inches from your face (do not look at the light directly). Speaking about the product directly, it is small and transportable as well as powerful.

    not sure how accurate 10000 lux setting is, nor am i sure how accurate my phone lux meter is, but it says only about 2000 lux reaches my phone at a distance of about 40-50cm. not enough to make a significant difference to circadian rhythm/mood/serotonin levels.

    I bought this last year, pulled it out again for the cold season and it “works” to an extent, the touch sensitive buttons act as if they’re being touched when there’s no pressure/warmth input. Sometimes the lamp makes itself brighter, the timer can be seen increasing and dropping, and the most irritating issue is that it turns itself off regardless of if the timer is being used. So keep it within arms reach if you’re looking for consistent light!

    Also, make sure you pick up a USB charging block that has a 1A output (think of the older USB-B style charging blocks), not the newer industry standard 2.4A output (general for USB-C fast charging) as using the latter causes the lamp to hold extra heat on the lower back portion of the unit.

    In short, shop other listings first.

    I have used another well known brand for years until it got lost in the hospital. I tried this brand because of the price and the reviews. I loved the small size, levels of brightness, timers, the lightness of weight, and pleasing matte finish.
    I have been very careful with it, but 3 days ago it started flickering like there was something wrong with the connecting cord. I switched adapters and plugs, but it barely flickers on for short periods now for a second or two.I will
    My conclusion is that it is not durable, or perhaps the cord is faulty. I would love to swap it out for the same model that works, but because I’m a week past the return date I’m left with an electronic product that failed in only 5 weeks with no recourse. ☹️ I will send message to seller and will update this review if there is a response.

    Used it couple times so far. I think it’s a great product! I’ve been using various sad lights before. The light gives me less anxiety in comparison to the philips golite blu. Also much more expensive. More compact and better than other white lights. In conclusion white light is much better in my opinion than blue. It gave me anxiety also feeling of depersonalization (feeling of out of body and environment feeling). For price I think it’s worth it!

    Recommend doing research to understand how to use this light properly for five star results. I’ve noticed gradual desired changes that meet the goals set forth for health and goal reasons. Even though only a few days in the results have been a pleasant surprise as I had expected this to take longer.

    The combination of several actions contribute and can accentuate this lamp when combined, in my experience.

    First thing in the morning turn the light on. Do not look at the light directly as it’s recommended not to. But this light needs to be exposed to the eyes. It takes a bit of effort initially to be able to master this while still working the controls. Basically, put my hand over the light to be able to use controls.

    Recommend practicing during the day to get a feel for the process. This will help when morning rolls around day one. The light will pop on to the last used setting. But for the first day or two you may begin at the lower setting. To get use to the brightness if you wake in a dark room like I do.

    I make it a point to sit within two feet of the light while allowing the light to reach my eyes. This is essential to get the brain connected to results.

    My adopted activity is propping the light up in front of me on the bed while reading scripture. Plus, review my day’s schedule. When in the office working on publishing or illustrations prop the light up to use then, also.

    The third setting, or 10K Lums at 30 minutes is the goal, but don’t be concerned with trying the lowest setting to start. It’ll take longer to gain desired exposure, but you can do this several times during the day for a total cumulative result.

    For me, want a morning sleep cycle result. For cooler months with less daylight this could be a great boost during the day. Recommend trying the light and journal results so you can adjust results.

    If you can do thirty right away at wake up go for this. As the results will be better for setting your biological clock and improve health benefits, imo, and based on research from others.

    What I’m shooting for is my body believes it’s on a clock regardless of what the sun cycle is outdoors. This helps my ability to focus during the day and sleep better. My goal includes a wake sleep time that’s consistent. Which occurred within a couple of days.

    I have not tried going without the light to see what happens. If you skip may get varying results. Consistency is key.

    My desired result happened within three days of 10k Lums first thing in the morning. Though I don’t begin using as soon as I’m woken naturally without an alarm.

    For those requiring an alarm recommend setting it sooner so you have time to do the full treatment, 30 minutes. If you’re like me, will find yourself feeling energized like a cup of caffeine. And at night desire to go to sleep sooner.

    You might notice you wake before the alarm as your body adjusts. If you wanna stick to a schedule turn the light on at the same time daily. You may find yourself resting better with your sleep cycle.

    Within a couple of days found myself going to bed sooner. Like a hard yawn I need rest. Sleep and even found myself wanting a nap, but am forcing myself to stick to a sleep schedule to adjust to the light. The next day waking earlier having slept well. Then, wanting to do the light. But wait until the time I want my clock to start. So I lay quiet until 5:30 am.

    On a side note, had been wearing a mask at night to block light out. Use brown noise to help myself not wake from odd noise of pets. Dark room sleep is essential to the process, not just base on research but experience. Do research why to understand how I’m getting better sleep and it can benefit you, too. Including this alum light.

    If you’re disappointed in this light reevaluate the reason for it in your life.

    Health and wellness is a process. Expecting one thing to be the fix is frivolous, in my experience.

    This light offers quality, looks, stability in stance and wellness, and the timer functions as needed. Great price point, too. With more research and combining other measures to enhance sleep and results this light scores a win. Its size is perfect for my touring and around the home and office.

    If this light has such profound results with proper use already, I’m excited to learn what the long term use through winter will produce.

    A recommendation is begin using this as the sun cycle declines brightness moving into fall and through winter. Be gracious with yourself during trial and error. As you get use to how you wish to use and results desired.

    The challenge for me is if I wanna stay up later during touring will try skipping the light during the day. See if it influences my sleep and if I don’t use can I manage a later bedtime.

    Another thing I do is maintain nutrition to help rest. Magnesium has ten types. Upon research found the three that benefit me. Buy a supplement that combines these and maintain a daily regime. Due to removing organic whole milk from my day at the level I was to pursuit of a low inflammation diet found falling sleep was more difficult.

    There’s multiple things whole milk helped with. Weight maintenance to support for less discomfort during menstruation. My list was long. There’s been many studies why this would benefit me. But you may not agree with.

    Sharing these extra detains to show my results and journey to potentially benefit yours. If you do your own research toward better sleep hygiene and feeling happy during the day with better mental health it’s worth consideration.

    The magnesium helped regain a better nights sleep. Including black out curtains and brown noise. Because I travel a lot and enjoy road trips wanted consistent sleep despite where I am. The rituals developed make this possible, for me.

    Though when people blanket recommend things like magnesium often skip there’s ten types. Finding what works for oneself is a trial error effort. Not all magnesium supplements or companies are the same. I have not had similar results when trying different brands that host quality and their company story is one I can support.

    Even with a nutritious diet was not able to consume the right amount of magnesium for me. Noticed the dairy change was impacting my sleep cycle. Part of the issue was also calories. Without dairy struggle with consuming enough.

    Over time, researching quality sleep and rest began implementing options that have added to my results. As a veteran who struggled with the results of military service and while caring for a spouse suffering from YOPd side effects impacting our rest knew leading a consistent life of quality rest would be a life long journey including research and discovery. Trial and error.

    This light catapulted me into deeper sleep and better schedule results. Even with the prior efforts including: mask, black out curtains, magnesium supplement with three best for my physiology, and brown noise. And, Mack ear plugs as needed if traveling to supplement maintaining my environment when camping or RV parking at certain locations. Yes, keeping the brown noise on. As it helps me calm toward sleep. Final have to, using a red light when winding down. No blue light activity within a couple hours of sleep.

    I’ve also begun to incorporate some activities to boost relaxation and reset my body and brain. There’s a place that offers: Normatec, Halo (salt) room, Infrared sauna, cold plunge, and float (depravation of sound and light chamber floating on salt water). Doing these for a Mother’s Day spa was life changing. Being brave trying the cold plunge using my nursing and military experience was the first to manage ten minutes. The max time allowed. The owner couldn’t believe it.

    Through research and learning about the Wim Hoff method and his book this convinced me to pursue adding home options. Like, in my big claw tub a cold plunge of tap water. Portable infrared sauna. Even a modified float.

    Sharing these details to inspire how this light can be a plus. For me, results hit within a week. Being open to leveraging personal discovery helps me manage its use for my biology. Yours may be different. Being self aware is key to consistent benefits. Even if adjusted due to travel or schedule.

    Like, I won’t use the light if it interferes with a scheduled activity with family or an evening concert, etc. You might find different results and should adjust accordingly rather than one star review.

    Not a lot of people will have this one issue, but is worth including. If I do not eat enough calories find sleep more difficult to transition to. When eliminating a lot of calories from dairy noticed this is a bigger challenge. As I enjoy low caloric foods. Dense in nutrients. Contrary to recommendations from extensive research find consuming protein at night or if wake in the middle of the night on rare occasion, this helps.

    Then, schedule a dense meal that is heavy on fullness to help reset my cycle. That night sleep like a baby as the saying goes.

    My results to five star with this light will vary from someone just using this light. Consistency over time is key would be my biggest recommend if you do zero else, similar to me.

    Prior to this light was waking early without an alarm. Not a morning person found myself enjoying mornings and feeling the best energy of the day at this time with my ritual inclusion of choices. The magnesium is the biggest notable need as without it after a week found myself unable to go to sleep much less feel rested. The brand I use also seems relevant as two other brands has a lesser effect but still make a difference.

    My primary need for a 10k lum light is thwarting feeling blue to assist with my mental health goals. I’d been feeling burnt out from a cumulating of reasons. To help perk me up saw someone named Bryan Johnson using the light. I’d never heard of this technique. Did some research and thought this light regime as a ritual could make a difference in how I was feeling.

    Side effects for me is better sleep and feeling better during the day. Though I’m on a journey of discovery of how this impacts me long term. The immediate results in a week are remarkable enough to leave info for someone else hoping for better sleep or feeling less glum during the day.

    Adding the additional info is for maybe one person who will have some tips on other things to consider to helping themselves and their family if they have a home community of people.

    I’ve also noticed the pets seem able to rest better and have acclimated to the lum cycle. To the level of they tell me it’s time for bed before I realize it, at times. And, if I go to bed later they wake me early. So sometimes will sleep separate of them or partner.
