I purchased the 11” Hybrid in King size along with a separate 2 inch king size latex topper. Which has equaled, without a doubt, THEE BEST sleep my wife and I have EVER had. After YEARS of wasted time and $ spent (wasted) the seemingly never ending, frustrating, and discouraging hunt for the best mattress/topper combo at the best value is finally over.Background: Reason I went with a hybrid is simple, best of both worlds. Adding the topper was to, hopefully, extend the life of the mattress as much as possible. I’ve spent THOUSANDS of $ on mattresses and/or toppers including Tempurpedic, ghostbed, Ashley Furniture, nectar, some no name brands, and MANY more but this mattress here….this thing basically put my wife and I in cocoons of restful bliss. The first morning I woke up after sleeping on it, I wept large joyful man tears of relief and happiness.ITEM INFO: Easy to “install” – Pop open the box, remove the mattress, CAREFULLY cut away the wrapping, unfold it on your bedframe, and position it as needed. The mattress is true king size so our sheets fit perfectly. I noticed MAYBE a slight smell that quickly dissipated but could’ve just been my preconceived thoughts of latex manifesting as something that wasn’t there. The box was actually pretty heavy and should be moved by 2 people for safety, keep in mind I purchased an 11” King size. The mattress immediately and properly inflated to its original, as advertised shape and height within seconds. That’s very important because I’ve had more than a few bed in a box mattresses LOOK how they should but as soon as you lay on it the edges feel like castle dungeon walls while this mattress was an inviting sea of comfort. Prior to delivery, I set the AC to 76*, we live in south Florida so I usually have it set to 68-71*. I did this because foam will expand quicker and more evenly it mild temps, cold temps=longer or incomplete expansion. My wife and I gave it 24hours to fully expand, just in case. I’m a VERY hot sleeper, I sweat a RIDICULOUS amount all day long (it’s actually embarrassing, but genetics) so sleeping cool and comfy has never really happened for me. Memory foam is soft and nice to lay on until your skin reaches 369 degrees Fahrenheit then when you try to get up, because your body has expelled ridiculous amounts of sweat, you can’t. Why??….because memory foam offers 0.00% of support while also being excellent at dehydrating you while you’re unconscious! Awesome. This latex mattress allows my body heat to be expelled so I’m constantly comfy and cool, it was the first time in my LIFE I had to point my INDUSTRIAL fan away from me at night because I was cold! Usually cooling properties = lack of support…not here. This thing offers enough give to cradle you like a grown man baby while ensuring your hips, lower back, neck/shoulders, knees, etc are all aligned and supported. Back and neck pain – gone, bags under my eyes – gone, headaches – gone, the need to have a $400 industrial fan blowing ice cold air directly onto me – gone.So yes, this may be a little more expensive than others BUT you get what you pay for! Remember latex is NOT memory foam, you can’t even compare them IMO so take that into account when deciding which item to purchase. When, not if, when you choose this one and sleep on it, you’ll thank me.

Mine are about the same.ABOUT FIRMNESSThe reviews all give different opinions about firmness. After two weeks with it, I think the reason is because of its “pocket coil” design. Let me explain. The individual springs yield to the different parts of our body much better than other mattresses.In this design, the springs compress individually. The heavier parts of our body yield more, while still giving support to the smaller parts like our legs, waist and head. If this makes sense, you can see the result is a feeling of firmness, yet a subtle feeling of softness. I think that may explain the differing opinions. Also, the movements of your wife or husband, never bother you.Oh, one other thing about firmness. I learned it from our firm Beautyrest mattress. The Beautyrest replaced another soft waterbed so the transition was radical. We were advised to give it a month before making a decision. After two weeks we loved it. It will be the same with the Sunrising.Some will say it is not that firm while others feel it is quite firm. I hope this explains the differing opinions. That is about all I can say about firmness except I consider it to be on the firm side.NOW ABOUT COMFORTThe first night was fine; no odors and no discomfort. My nose is not the sensitive instrument my wife possesses. It passed her smell test, so it passes anything.Just like firmness is subjective, so is comfort. What I do is compare it to two of the other mattresses I’ve owned. The Sunrising replaced a $2,000 tube type waterbed. The other is my Beautyrest standard innerspring, firm.My rating is the Sunrising (one); the Beautyrest (two) and the waterbed (three).Now to explain my ranking.I have unusual body demands. I have two artificial hips, a minor, chronic back problem and my body temp rises when sleeping (so I sweat). My opinion is that the Sunrising will present no problems with normal folks or people with unusual problems.Ok – that was stage one. What is our experience after two weeks?My wife and I differ but we are both happy with our new bed. She says she slides around in this bed. She would sink into the waterbed and not move. She like that feature of the waterbed.I do not slide around but do not have the problem of being trapped as with the waterbed. I hated the waterbed for the same reason my wife liked it.Go figure.As far as our overall opinion goes, we both like this much better than the waterbed. We never were happy with it.After years of sleeping on three different types of waterbeds, I concluded waterbeds are a fabrication of marketing people. It seems to make sense that sleeping on water has got to be wonderful. They forget to mention there is a thick sheet of plastic between you and the water. That changes everything – at least in my opinion.The difference between the Beautyrest and the Sunrising is their construction. The springs in the Beautyrest are all linked together. The mattress yields to your body but it does it as a unit. Lay on it and the surface “dishes.” The firmer the mattress, the flatter the dish.The Sunrising springs are independent from each other. Thus each spring yields to your body in a unique way. (No dish) This allows your body to be better supported and conform to your unique body. It does not matter whether you sleep on you side back or stomach. The individual springs adjust to every sleeping position.I felt the Sunrising softened somewhat during the first week. That was a good thing. But again my wife responded differently. Still the bottom line is the same, we both like the mattress.Two other comments are the Sunrising offers no extra support on the edge. It concerned me but you can see from the picture (sorry there is no picture) of me sitting on the edge that support is acceptable. I have shrunk to 67 inches during the last 80 years and now weigh about 170 lbs.ABOUT CONSTRUCTIONOur queen has 825 individual springs, making each spring smaller than many other similar mattresses.Increasing the number of springs, increases the flexibility and the weight of the mattress. Check the weight of the Sunrising against the competition. You will see it weighs more, indicating the better qualitySunrising added a one inch pad of latex to the top of the mattress. Its advantage is latex’s ability to sleep cool. I appreciate this as my body temperature rises when I sleep so I usually wake all sweaty. Too often we must change sheets because of it. With the Sunrising, I never have a sweat problem. Hallelujah.Answers to questions not askedThe Sunrising mattress is reversible except for the fact that the latex is only on one side. I do not see a big problem with giving up the latex when you flip the mattress. If you miss its benefits, just buy a latex topper. Sunrising chose latex instead memory foam. It indicates their commitment to a high quality standard by not “cheaping out.”Their quality is reflected in another point, often missed when buying a spring mattress. Their springs are 12 gauge, tempered steel. It means they never wear out. Springs made of regular steel eventually lose their “memory,” resulting in sagging.O urqueen weighs 81lb and ships at almost 90 pounds. That’s more than the other pocket coil’s.WEIGHT translates to quality. You can fool the buyer but not the scales. It was one of my questions, when trying to determine quality. It is very easy to move around and flip, if that is a concern.I am retired so am a careful buyer when it comes to major purchases. I wanted to know more about the company and their guarantee. I searched them out on the “Net” and discovered a few things that might interest you.It appears they are selling factory direct and a small company trying to develop a marketing niche. My guess is that once they become better known for quality they might increase their prices. All things considered, this is the best mattress I can get for less than $500.I bought this mattress six months ago but decided to hold up my review until now, just to be sure that whatever the manufacturer of the mattress claim on the product description and reviews from other buyers is indeed true. So, my trial period has elapsed and I can precisely give an honest review of this product.I have tried at least six brands of mattresses before then but had not found one that meets my personal needs. However, I was not going to give up, and so I decided to buy the 8-inch hybrid natural latex mattress from Sunrising Bedding at Amazon.com, although I had so much anxiety purchasing a mattress online. This one was tagged with a price that would not drill holes in my pocket if I did not like it. Besides that, there was that assurance that I will be refunded, if at all, the product falls below my expectation during the 120-day trial period.Upon placing the order, the mattress was at my doorstep, faster than I had expected. Unfortunately, since I had just moved into a new house, my bedroom, which was in the upstairs, was not complete yet as there was few fixing going on. It was supposed to be ready in a couple of weeks. Therefore, I had to drag the box in the store to wait for the official opening of my bedroom!Opening the packageTwo weeks down the line, my bedroom is ready. Initially, I was worried that this mattress would have permanent folding issues because it remained like that, two weeks after delivery. It is now time to unbox the package and try it out. As said by other reviewers of this product, it comes with heavy and large box, perhaps to keep it safe during delivery. Upon opening the box, it expanded very quickly, and in a couple of minutes, it was eight inches high. Update 2024. The mattress is holding up great! I DO use a 2 inch latex topper which was planned. I am now having pressure pain on my hip sides (due to age) and need 3 inches for the topper. My sheets barely fit now with the 2 inch one. My one and only complaint with the mattress is the ungodly weight of it. I can barely get my fitted sheet on because it’s so heavy to lift. Anyway, its holding up so far. Again, in my opinion it is FIRM by itself, husband is still sleeping great on it.I bought this after reading all of the reviews and questions. I used to have a Waterbed, then a Sealy Backsaver, then a Firm Beautyrest mattress. Sealy was very hard and I used a 2″ memory foam topper. Beautyrest was less firm but I still used a topper even though not really needed. I also bought a 2″ latex topper for the Sunliving only because most of the reviews made this mattress appear very firm at least on the 8″ and I like the “bounce” of a latex topper. The first night it felt hard but not bad. We only let it sit a couple hours before sleeping on it. That’s without a topper as the one I ordered has not been received yet. After using it a couple of weeks now we’ve decided that we don’t need the topper. I may try it though. I believe most of the reviews from folks thinking it’s too hard have never really had any experience with a truly hard mattress. Most buy a mattress (even a firm one) with a pillowtop built into it so don’t know how hard the actual mattress is. I would rate the bare 10′ mattress an 8.5 on a scale from 1-10 hardness. My husband is a stomach sleeper and I sleep on my side. The mattress quality is very good. I do not feel any springs and it NEVER SMELLED.If I were to have a wish it would be that the edge had the extra support, although we’re now used to the difference from our old mattress. Without a topper it’s very much like the Beautyrest firm we had before. The cashmere top is very nice and it opened nicely on the bed but we had to flip it over so the latex side was up.We were both pleasantly surprised with how much we liked it. Amazing how they can compress these and have them open up to a perfectly looking mattress. If you buy one please give it a week or so before you decide if you like it or not. Ours is softer 2 weeks from the initial opening. The 20yr warranty is a plus and you can bet I’ll use it if there is any issues. We love it so far!!

So,Did a ton of research on this and others but it was one review back a year or so that made my decision. Compare the weight of this to others. Much heavier. Translated into better coils and denser latex and foam. Better support.I’m not sure on cloud feel compared to tempurpedic but not horrible.I’m 6’3″ and around 290 last weigh in. I was having hip pain issues at time of purchase. Side sleeper. It gave me 95% relief but couldn’t shake pain till I finally went to chiropractor who fixed it. So no more pain in that hip.No real pain when waking up in shoulders or neck. Been using 60 days plus now.I wish they made a 12″ with thicker latex top layer then I think the “cloud feel” would be closer to reality for me.Now, someone lighter as tall or shorter might get this as a little firmer but my size and manufacture description I say medium firm.Cover is nice feel.My negative on buld is I can feel coils through the side. No layer/buffer to protect but do not see issue long term just observation. No issues sitting on side of bed. I think some companies put foam around the sides that shields the coils.I would like to thank that earlier reviewer for the weight observation. Better quality as I also just bought the Lucid twin XL latex 10″. It was much lighter, easier to take up stairs and feels below medium firm. It still not expanded to 10″ 4 days later. Have not slept on it yet but I’m upset it’s not fully expanded. I couldn’t even find the coils on the Lucid. I’ll review Lucid in a few weeks but initially, my take is great for kids! Latex, cool to touch.Latex. This is the way to go IMHO. Stays cool holds shape. Exactly what you want or what I wanted.Conclusion.So, these 2 will be going to grandkids as I come to finalize either split king or regular king and adjustable frame.I really do enjoy this mattress, good price, and believe it’s a top choice.Also, they have a trial period. Very generous. The Lucid latex 10″ not so. Maybe 12″ would be better.I would recommend this mattress for a side or back sleeper. Comes in a nifty bag to carry up the stairs. I knew when I bought it that this was a firm mattress so from the beginning I added about 5 inches of latex foam to the top of it as I actually prefer a softer mattress. I ordered a firm though because my husband and I each weighed about 300 lbs and we needed a mattress that would hold the weight without sagging in a year or too. I am rather impressed with this mattress and the way it is built. The individually wrapped coil springs eliminate a lot of the movement the bed makes when you roll over and/or toss and turn all night. One of us can even get out of bed and it doesn’t disturb the other person which is something I have not experienced with a mattress that is all foam. I am very pleased with this mattress, I have even recommended to a couple of people who where tired of memory foam and gel mattresses sagging where you lay every night. This mattress is still perfectly flat like it was when I first bought it a little over a year ago.
