Bed expanded to full size rather quickly. Zero odor. I think it will be fine for our guest room. It has some weight to it, but not nearly as heavy as some other really good quality mattresses we have in our house. There is really no comparison, nor did I expect there to be given the price, so I’m not disappointed. It feels rather firm. It is advertised to have enhanced edge support, but if you sit near the edge, it does sink in considerably – and I weigh 130 lbs. Note that there are no “handles” on the side to aid in moving it around. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that there are no material/content tags attached. So just hoping/assuming that the mattress I received is indeed made of the materials as advertised to be in line with CentiPur/OEKO 100 etc. standards. That is one of the main reasons I chose this mattress. All in all, given the price, I would consider it to be a good value.

Bought to replace the camper mattress. I can’t sleep on just any mattress. I need something that has support but not overly firm. This was the perfect fit. The quality was great for the price too. Would recommend.

My wife and I have been thinking about replacing our twenty-year-old mattress (a Sealy Posturepedic) for some time now. We had gone to a discount mattress store and looked at a number of mattresses. It’s very easy to drop two to three thousand dollars on a mattress (easy if you have that money to spend!). We decided to keep our mattress! But then I saw this Queen mattress from Duchessz. The specs of the mattress seemed pretty good and the description of the construction makes it look like they do a pretty good job of putting it together. Plus, it was only a tenth of the price of some of the other mattresses we were looking at (or less)! So, we decided to give it a try.
The mattress came as a heavy vacuum-packed cylinder. I laid it out on top of our guest bed and started cutting the vacuum bag. Air started rushing in and the mattress started expanding. Pretty cool. Not only that, but as I was careful in cutting it I now have a huge area of think plastic I can use as a paint drop cloth!
But back to the mattress. It quickly expanded to almost full-size, but it did take several hours to reach its full size. But that didn’t really matter as you wouldn’t want to use it right away because of the plastic smell from its manufacturing. It did stink, and I left it to air out for a week (probably only needed two days or so) before I got around to using it. Now, neither my wife or I smell anything other than clean mattress. It would have been nice if the mattress had moving handles built into it, but we managed to move it anyway.
The mattress itself is comfortable and would be called a medium firm mattress. I like the bumps on the mattress (I wasn’t sure I would). They’re hardly perceived through the mattress pad I use, but they’re a reminder that I’m lying on a mattress (I have no idea how to really describe this, but it’s comfortable!). My wife has said that she notices me roll around more on this mattress than our old one, but I haven’t noticed that with her, and she says it’s more of an observation than a complaint. Probably that I weigh about 80 pounds more than she does has something to do with that.
The only “complaint” I have about this mattress is that the edges are much more flexible than my previous mattress. In fact, the first time I sat on it I sat on it at an angle with only one “cheek” in contact with the bed and I promptly fell off onto the floor when the mattress sunk down under my weight! Oops! But that only happened once. I tend to lie on the edge of the bed with a leg dangling over the side and the bed supports me fine for that. I have no tensions that I’m about to fall off of the bed. That’s a good thing!
I imagine I could get a “better” mattress if I wanted to spend $2,000 more, but for the price of this mattress, I’m hard-put to imagine finding a better deal. Good quality build and inexpensive! Wow!

After using the Duchessz 12-Inch Hybrid Mattress for a few weeks, I can confidently say that it provides a great balance of comfort and support. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience:
Pros:
Hybrid Design for Optimal Comfort: The combination of gel memory foam and individually wrapped pocket coils creates a good blend of softness and support. The top layer is soft enough to feel plush, while the coils underneath provide firmness and stability. This hybrid design offers the best of both worlds for people who prefer medium-firm mattresses.
Motion Isolation: One of the standout features of this mattress is its motion isolation. The individually wrapped pocket coils do a great job of minimizing motion transfer. This is a huge plus if you share the bed with a partner, as their movements won’t disturb your sleep.
Pressure Relief: The gel memory foam conforms nicely to the body, offering excellent pressure relief on key points like the shoulders, hips, and lower back. I’ve noticed less stiffness in the morning, which has improved my overall sleep quality.
Breathable & Cool: The mattress is designed with a breathable cover and gel memory foam, which helps regulate temperature. I didn’t experience any overheating, which is often a concern with foam mattresses.
Convenient Delivery: The mattress arrives compressed in a box, making it easy to move and set up. It fully expanded within 24–48 hours and had no lingering odors, which can sometimes be an issue with new mattresses.
Cons:
Initial Firmness: While the mattress is medium-firm, I found it a bit firmer than expected during the first few days. However, it softened up after some use and became more comfortable over time.
Edge Support: The edge support is decent but not as robust as some higher-end mattresses. There’s a slight dip when sitting or sleeping near the edge, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
Conclusion:
The Duchessz Queen Mattress offers excellent comfort, pressure relief, and motion isolation at a very reasonable price. The hybrid design with gel memory foam ensures a good night’s sleep, especially for those who want support without sacrificing softness. While it may be a bit firm initially, it adjusts well over time. For a mattress that comes compressed in a box, this is an impressive
