I have no way of validating the various sensors but I just have to say the overall design and UX is great! The touchscreen is responsive, and clear. The menu and navigation is intuitive. It looks gorgeous on my desk.
I’ll be using this as the standard for desktop appliances from now on.

I’m happy with the accuracy and build of this monitor. When I check outside air, the PM 2.5 agrees with local Purple sensors, which are pretty good. It uses the same type of laser particle counting cartridge. CO2 is correctly in the 400s. Temperature is spot-on checked against my Chef-Tap. It’s hard to know what the VOC means, but it does rise in the basement where it smells a little musty. The sound monitoring is the only thing that doesn’t work well. It never drops below 43 dB, probably because the sensor is too close to its internal fan. That’s a small quarrel, given that my ears can tell me the noise level perfectly well.
The form factor and screen are beautiful, and I’m hopeful it will last a while since the particle sensor is replaceable. The display is crisp and clear, and you can set a priority measurement to be large enough to read at a glance or put it into a clock mode with small air quality displays at the bottom.
I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn’t need the app at all. It can connect to wifi on its own, with a touch-screen keyboard to put in the password. Connected to wifi it shows hourly and daily graphs and you can set your city for local weather. The automatic time zone setting doesn’t work, but it’s easy to set manually. It does function off of wifi, but only shows time and immediate sensor readings. The app shows the readings and graphs but I doubt I’ll use it much unless I get one of their satellite pm 2.5 sensors. It’s designed to integrate into Xiaomi’s Mi Home and could probably control connected air filters but that’s not of much use in the US. Overall, it’s a pricy sensor but well worth the money.

I am quite conflicted writing this review, as I love what Qingping have attempted here, but it falls down in a few critical areas.
Firstly, the design is fantastic. It looks great, the screen is easy to read (as long as it is not too low down), and the battery means you can move it around or test an area and it lasts long enough (a few hours) so that you dont need to move the charger with it.
What doesn’t work so well (most frustrating issues first…)?
Updates within app slow and random – this is the biggest bug. If you open the app the various measurements don’t update. I have had some that 24 hours later haven’t updated within the app. Killing and restarting the app immediately forces an update, and I eventually do this every time so I can see the variance over the last day. But this has to be fixed.
Weather inaccuracy (on screen temp gauge) – I don’t know where they get the external temperature from but it is so far from the true local temp, and that reported by other weather services it is effectively useless.
Occasional errors in data – I have had internal temps of 95 degrees which is simply wrong (I run another sensor from a different manufacturer close by as comparison). Not sure why these
occasional temp bugs occur, but it is frustrating.
Graphs within the app give you a 24 hour or 30 day option, with no reference numbers so it is hard to see what variance has occurred. I know you can download the data, but I would like a graph that is more dynamic and useful (see what Govee does with their app, it is so much easier to interpret).
USB-C socket is shallow and the charge cable came out a few times. This issue occurs with multiple cables.
No calibration option – which I would have liked for the humidity. It is fairly close to accurate however (~5%) so not a big deal.
Screen angle – needs to be positioned at chest/head height for best screen readability. This makes sense anyway (for air quality) but the screen is dim if (due to angle) if located at table height.
So finally, the unit could be so effective as a general air quality monitor if some of these bugs/issues were resolved, and I love that ability to go look at the pattern of air quality over a period. For example, we had a concern regarding CO2 levels but using this monitor I see that my assumptions were incorrect. So it could be a very effective tool.
thanks to Qingping for the first attempt, and I am guessing they will make good progress in fixing the issues so maybe I will get to try the monitor again (I returned it) if these issues are made good.

TheQingping air monitor arrived a bit early and well packaged with no damage. After having the air monitor for a week or so I bought two more for my children. I can affirm the temperature and humidity recordings are accurate and match within 1% or less to my Nest Thermostat and othe temperature and humidity measurements. The PM 2.5 readings vary a bit when more people are around or during cooking so it appears very responsive. I’m a bit overdone on home air cleaning and have HEPA 14 and 13 air cleaners going 24/7 along with MERV 13 furnace A/C filters. The air where I live can get dusty and polluted hence the home air purifiers.
During normal operation the QingPing device shows a clock and swiping to the right brings up the temperature, humidity, PM 2.5 and tVOC measurements. The accompanying smart phone app is straightforward and responds quickly as well as being intuitive. Able to download 30 days of readings plus displaying the last 30 days in bar chart format is nice. Since it is Wi-Fi connected I can access the readings when I’m away.
I would definitely recommend the QingPing air monitor for anyone who wants to monitor local interior air quality. It’s at a good price point between very inexpensive monitors, with corresponding lower review numbers, and more expensive commercial grade monitors. Satisfied with my purchase
UPDATE 2/25/2023. Using this device I found I don’t need to run my air cleaners 24/7. In fact about 10 hours per day keeps the readings where I want them. This saves over 50% of the electricity used to run the air cleaners. Definitely another plus for this device.

I bought this device in June 2023, and one year after, it starts making grinding noises, which are quite unpleasant.
Do not buy this product if you seek something that lasts
