It’s admittedly a bit early to review this mattress, having only slept on it for a week now. But I wanted to share my thoughts since I had initially purchased a Modway and returned it to get this mattress.
First, I’ll say this – Amazon tells you to give this up to 72 hours to fill up, so I actually called customer service to ask whether you really needed to wait that long. The answer is no – the mattress can fill out in as little as 2 hours (mine sure did), and even if it doesn’t fill all the way right away, it doesn’t hurt it if you sleep on it. So said the folks at Tuft & Needle.
Second…
This mattress does not immediately feel like the most comfortable thing in the world. The Modway I’d just returned was a memory foam mattress with a cooling gel pad, and when you got into it, it immediately felt super comfy. I could lay on my side and my back and both ways felt phenomenal. But when my wife slept on it, she sank WAY down. And she’d wake up with terrible back pain.
So when I set up my new Nod mattress…and tested it out…it felt strangely rubbery. It didn’t feel immediately soft OR firm (they say medium, and I suppose that’s pretty much what it is). It also doesn’t let you sink in – at all. With the memory foam mattress (Modway) I barely felt my wife moving on the other side. With this one, I do kind of feel it – but not as much as you would with an innerspring mattress.
Laying on the mattress, again, it doesn’t immediately feel like the most comfortable thing in the world, but both my wife and I have slept incredibly well on it. I wake up feeling refreshed, rested…and no pain for either of us! I sleep on both my back and my sides, in case you’re a side/back sleeper & you’re wondering…
It also sleeps MUCH cooler than both my former innerspring mattress and the Modway, which supposedly has some sort of a cooling gel layer. With both of those, I woke up uncomfortably hot at least once or twice during the night. With this mattress, no such issue. So…older women rejoice! No more crazy night sweats on this thing.
So…that’s pretty much my experience so far.
Here’s a summary:
GOOD STUFF:
1. don’t feel your partner’s movement as much as on an innerspring mattress, but do feel it a bit more than a memory foam mattress.
2. doesn’t get hot – at all. No night sweats ladies!
3. wake up feeling refreshed, no aches & pains
4. can use it pretty much right away, within a couple of hours – no need to wait 72 hours
NOT SO GOOD STUFF:
1. doesn’t “feel” immediately comfy, especially if you’re a side sleeper. Not sure how much that matters since my sleep quality has been amazing so far.
2. you do feel a LITTLE bit of your partner’s movement on the bed…then again, my wife has not had to adjust as much on this mattress, so what little movement you would feel is reduced.
Overall, I highly recommend this mattress so far. I’ll update in a few months if anything changes.

This mattress is a bit on the soft side, but is quite comfortable. Wish it was a bit thicker/higher, though.

I would have chosen 4.5 stars if it was an option. This mattress was reasonably priced, came quickly, was ready to sleep on quickly, and is very comfortable. I knock it down half of a star because it is a hair too firm for my taste. I would say it’s about a 6/10 medium plush where I prefer 8/10 plush. It doesn’t creak and it feels sturdy. When sitting at the edge you don’t get sunken into it. I went to mattress firm and sat/laid in mattresses in this price range and this one really seems like a good bang for your buck. So far I’ve slept on it for about a month or so. Let’s hope it lasts.

2nd update after a couple of months use:
I now really love the mattress. It has softened a bit and it no longer makes me feel sore. My boyfriend has LOVED this mattress from the first night he slept on it but he weighs far more than I do so that may be the key. It might just be perfect for heavier sleepers from the start. I will say that it doesn’t really have great side support if that matters to you… I don’t care about that as much as I thought I would, really. I just want a supportive, comfortable bed where I can get a good night sleep and this is now the perfect mattress! Maybe it took a little time to soften or maybe I just needed to get used to the firmness after sleeping on a conventional pillow top. But the bottom line is that I love it now and wanted to let you know… I’m going to change my review to 5 stars!

If you want a very firm mattress this may be what you’re looking for.
It’s been over a month and it’s not much better. I really REALLY want to like this mattress but I’m sore all the time now, especially in the morning right when I get up. It’s the firmest bed I’ve ever had. When I lie on my side my hand falls asleep and my fingers tingle. I have wide shoulders and hips and a small waist so maybe I just need a softer pillow top mattress to fill in the gaps. I may look into returning it soon… for reference I am 5’4” and about 135lbs , mostly in my hips and thighs. Maybe that makes a difference. Also, another annoyance is that the side compresses to the side bed rail when you sit on the very edge.

I bought 3 of these mattresses for my new house. All are on platform beds.
I’ve never had a hybrid or memory foam mattress, only traditional mattresses. The king bed got lost in delivery somewhere so I had to wait an extra week for that one so I slept on one of the full beds… it was wonderful. Super comfortable and I was happy I decided to venture into the hybrid world.
Fast forward a week to when my king bed arrived… it is so SO FIRM… I can sleep on almost anything so I decided I would just get used to it. First day… I had weird left forearm and hand pain… strange, wasn’t sure what that was about… second day the exact same thing started on the other arm and hand… that eased a bit but by the end of the week my leg and foot started to hurt.. I immediately recognized that as sciatica, which I’ve had before from a pinched inflamed nerve in my lower spine. Dr says the mattress is just way too firm and the arm/hand pain is the same thing, just higher in the spine. I’m super sore and stiff when I get up in the morning too which has never happened before. I’ve gone back to sleeping on the full (exact same mattress) and everything is calming down. Why is the king bed so so much firmer? If it doesn’t soften up a bit soon I’ll have to return for something else… it’s a shame because the fulls are wonderful.
