I hate to leave a negative review, if I get a bad device, I always imagine I just received a lemon. However, after 2 pads, I can’t claim that. My story: I bought this in early December 2019. I specifically bought this one because it had a 5 yr warranty, I paid a premium price as I was tired of them only lasting about 6-8 months. Worked okay, but it never really got very warm on either side, I had to turn it to the max to get it even warm enough to feel it. Now, I only turn it on for a few hours before I go to bed then turn it off, so it’s not like I am abusing this mattress pad. But a few weeks ago i noticed my side would just shut off after 2 minutes. I did all of the troubleshooting, but nothing fixed it. I emailed the company with my purchase info and registration number. After multiple emails back and forth (they kept asking for additional information), they finally agreed to ship a new one. When I got the new one, i went through the whole process of hooking this up (anyone who has set these up know what i mean: crawling under the bed with remotes and plugs around this post and that post, such a PITA!), I plugged the new one in, turned on my husband’s side, then mine. You wouldn’t believe it: my side wouldn’t come on!! I switched remotes to the other plugs and realized the controller was bad. I called them and they told me they would send me a new controller, but said they were currently out of stock and didn’t know when they’d be back in stock. When I asked if I’d ever get one for sure and she said she could not guarantee it.

This is the 3rd or 4th heated mattress pad I’ve had in 2-3 years, can’t I just find one that lasts??

We bought this [king size] mattress warmer as a replacement for a similar unit that started to have controller problems (probably a broken heating wire). The material isn’t as soft, but it’s acceptable. However, my wife says it’s too hard and inflexible, so she puts a soft blanket over her side of the bed to provide more cushioning. The 20 levels of heating (plus “Preheat”) are all anyone could require. At a setting of 5 (out of 20), it heats the bed just enough so that you don’t have to climb into an icy set of sheets, and if it’s REALLY cold, the “Preheat” setting will warm things up in a hurry.

The only complaint is that there is an unheated section that runs lengthwise down the middle. If you’re keeping to your own side, this isn’t a problem, but if there’s any movement from one side to the other (or if you sprawl restlessly), there’s a cold section running from head to toe in the center that has to be navigated before reaching the other side.

Note that this applies to the unit with 20 settings…there are other models that have only 5 settings, and I haven’t tried any of those.

Fits nice and tight on a thin mattress from a box store. Tons more room for a much larger mattress to fit too! Heats up fast and many levels of comfort to choose. Love it!

I love this heated mattress pad, including the fact that the deep pockets were SO easy to get on my very deep mattress. I had to experiment over a few nights to find out just what worked for me but now that I have discovered it, it is such a pleasure. I love that it has 20 instead of 10 heat settings so that it goes more gradually up or down to help you find just the right setting. I am always cold early in the night but I get quite warm toward morning so I finally settled on a heat of 7 and a timer turn-off of 3 hours. With that I can have only a sheet and a summer-weight comforter over me even in the winter. I also love the gentleness of the heat. It is SO much more pleasant to have the heat under you instead of over you, as in an electric blanket. On another note, there was a reviewer who was sending his mattress pad back because, he said, he decided to test it out before he went to the trouble of putting it on the bed (which I can certainly understand). He left it on about 4 hours and said it didn’t get warm. But I’ve discovered that you really hardly feel the warmth until you are lying on it. I turn mine on 5 to 10 minutes before I go to bed and, to my hand, the heated side doesn’t feel too much different from the unheated side, but once I’m in the bed it warms up within a minute or two. It seems the weight of your body brings the wonderfully gentle heat out. My only regret is that, unlike when I used to have one of these back before the turn of the century, you could get them with greater warmth at the feet, which was wonderful. I was so disappointed not to have been able to find one now with this feature as many of us suffer from particularly cold feet and it is very hard to fall asleep when your feet are cold. The old ones made it easier to heat your feet sufficiently without overheating the rest of you. But I am delighted to have a new one and am now wondering how I’ve made it the last 20 to 25 years without one!

I bought this right before we got a major cold snap this winter, and I’m SO happy with it. I like that it’s 100% cotton, and the twin xl fits perfectly on my side of our split king adjustable bed. Now I can be warm and toasty, while my husband enjoys his freezing cold side lol. I preheated it for an hour before first time I used it, and wow, what a revelatory experience it was when I went to bed! Instead of bracing for the cold mattress to suck out whatever measly body heat I have, I’m now greeted with a warm, relaxing, enveloping hug. My husband laughs at my new climate-controlled biosphere, but I don’t want to live in a world without it! The cord is heavy duty/high quality, it’s easy to use, and I like that there are 20 heat settings to choose from. I did notice that some reviewers said that their mattress warmer suddenly stopped working after a few months, so I made sure to register my product with Beautyrest for their 5-year warranty. So far so great – highly recommend! Oh, and our heating bill has gone down 18% compared to the same time last year 🙂

Great product! Initially bought this mattress pad heater with 2 controllers for my husband. We keep the thermostat turned down and he is more sensitive to the cold than I am. I never thought I would use my side, but I now enjoy the comfort and warmth this product provides as much as he does.

I was initially worried about the one star reviews about the controllers not working. In fact, one of ours stopped working after two months. But no problem! Do NOT use an extension cord. Follow these steps exactly to reset your controller (provided by BeautyRest customer service).
There are several causes to this problem:
    1. Bedding product is plugged into an extension cord, surge protector, power strip, or not plugged into a direct wall outlet.
    2. Bedding product wasn’t plugged in properly.

To FIX this problem, do the following to reset your bedding product:

    1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical connection.
    2. Unplug the cord from the actual bedding product itself.
    3. Re-plug the cord into the bedding product. Make sure the connection is secure and complete.
    4. Re-insert power cord back into a wall outlet.

If the 4 steps above are not followed in order, the bedding product will not properly reset. After resetting and the problem still persists, the blanket, mattress pad, or heated throw and control(s) need to be sent into our factory for repair or replacement.

  7. Cliente de Amazon

    Muy contenta con mi compra

  8. Mara

Estoy muy satisfecha de esta compra. Calienta muy bien y es ideal para las noches frías en una casa o departamento que no tenga calefacción central.

  9. Darlene

Very nice heated mattress pad which I use nightly to help my tight muscles and painful joints to relax so I can sleep through the night with less pain.

  10. Dawnacious

I was worried about the placement of the connection at the foot end, but they are hardly noticeable, unless you go feeling around for them, you would never know they are there. The power cords are long enough. Temp setting 9 is plenty warm and the timer works great! Love it! Adding that, this will not work with an automatic timer, at least not mine.
