Good idea but uncomfortable in action.

A bit of background: I have mild sleep apnea, but I don’t qualify for a CPAP machine. Sleeping on my side usually resolves the issue. I’ve tried various devices with limited success, and I was hoping this one would do the trick. It arrived tightly vacuum-packed, and once opened, it expanded into a 10-inch long, 5.5-inch wide, firm foam block with a Velcro strap.
Does it prevent you from sleeping on your back? Sort of. It’s difficult to imagine lying on your back with the block positioned behind you. The 10-inch length ensures that when you’re on your side, the block lines up with the side of your body, preventing any backward lean….
Unfortunately, the design has a flaw. Since it’s only the strap around your waist holds the block in place, it tends to shift during the night. Over time, the block slips around to my side, and I end up waking up on my back with the foam block at my side no longer under my back. I’ve tried tightening the strap so the block doesn’t move, but that just makes wearing it uncomfortable.

I’ve tried countless remedies over the years. This pillow has been one of the most effective solution I’ve found. While the pillow itself is not adjustable and wouldn’t fit around my waist, it has significantly helped me sleep better by encouraging side sleeping and keeping my airway open. The pillow is also made with soft, breathable materials, so you can sleep comfortably all night.

If you have a belly, these won’t fit. I’m not in the best shape… Dad bod… and these won’t reach around my belly or chest area. It fits my petite, slim wife, but she has no need for this.

This barely fits around my waist with Velcro and having a giant block on your back doesn’t help stay on my side. I was actually able to roll over on it as well. I get the thought process and as simplistic as it is, it’s just not for me.

I bought this for my husband mostly because of a sleep study that showed sleep apnea only when he was sleeping on his back. This keeps him on his side and as an added bonus, no more snoring! He’s sleeping 6-7 hours now at night now, which is a big improvement.

I am unfortunately burdened with snoring and my wife doesn’t particularly like it either. I found this product and wanted to give it a shot. I do not sleep on my back anymore cutting down tremendously on my snoring. The product is simple to put on and is comfortable to sleep in. It might take a minute to get used to not being able to roll on your back but after a night I was good to go.
