So first, I think it’s a cool idea to combine all these functions into one “pillow”. I feel that this is an alpha or beta version of something Bose will come out with in 2 years. Here’s my quick take:
SAFETY AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bummer, but could find NO certifications on this. Not sure what I was expecting, but would be good if it were ETL and / or UL certified. I wouldn’t use a heating pad that wasn’t ETL or UL certified, so not sure why this doesn’t have those certifications. I wouldn’t trust it to sleep with for myself, much less a child… Also, no auto shutoff! That’s a red flag to me.
PILLOW SHAPE/FEEL/COVERS
Foam is not shaped well / is hard. It’s not perfect for my back or my head. It’s okay, but certainly not the best memory foam pillow I’ve used. I received one cover on the pillow and then a spare cover separately, for a total of two covers.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL AND FEEL
I love the idea of a pillow that heats up! But I generally like that idea for my back, and not my head. For my head, I love the idea of a pillow that cools! This pillow does both, but gently. The temp is controlled through a silver dollar sized gray rubber-y button, which also illuminates with color to indicate the current temp setting. Works fine.
BONE CONDUCTION SPEAKERS
Again, love this idea. The speakers’ volume is quite low, but certainly enough for me to hear easily without waking my partner. Pairing was easy and – this is key for me, I paired natively through Bluetooth IOS. No need to download the app just to pair the speaker. Very much appreciated since almost everything now requires me to download and app, and that’s getting tiresome. So kudos to PillowCoach for not requiring in app pairing for the speakers to work.
POWER AND USB CABLE
Charging and the USB cable worked as expected. The cable itself is flat with with a smooth soft sheath.
SMART FEATURES
I didn’t test the smart features that are supposed to provide feedback on my sleeping habits because, given there is no auto shutoff, I’m not comfortable sleeping with the pillow plugged in.
Overall, I liked this pillow, and think it’s a cool smart device.
Would love to see the next gen of this sort through some of these issues, particularly certifications.

I won’t go through reviewing the comfort level as that is typically very subjective when it comes to pillows in general, but I would say that I personally find this pillow comfortable even given its hard feel!
What I’d focus on is what makes this pillow unique: the heated element and “bone conduction” feature. Both these functions rely on plugging in the pillow via its short-sighted and annoyingly short usb-a cable. The cable for once only comes out from the right side, so if you happen to sleep on the left side of the bed, then you definitely need an extension USB cable to route it to your left side. Even if you happen to be on the right side, the cable is way too short to be tethered to anything close by. After overcoming the short cable, I had a hard time connecting the pillow to the Tuya app and I still haven’t been able to do so. But I was successful at least to pair it to my phone for streaming music, and that’s where the “bone conduction” claim comes falling on its face! To be fair I was skeptical about this claim from the get go as I know with true bone conduction you need bone contact to conduct sound! How this pillow claim to do that was a mystery to me until now. Folks! There is No bone conduction going on here. The sound you’d hear while laying on the pillow is the same you’d hear while staring at it! The sound it produces is a very faint sound from what appears to be an internal small speaker. Very disappointing but not surprised.
The heating element is decent but without the full control of the app it feels useless. The operation of side button (which by the way glows in the dark) is not quite clear as the pillow would seem to shutdown abruptly and only unplugging it and plugging it back on brings it back to life! I may have a defective one but without knowing what it supposed to do I can’t tell.
The additional spare cover is a plus, the failed bone conduction and the app are a disappointment, the the short USB cable and its placement is a killer.
2.5 stars

I know this world is evolving into a “smart” world, but I’m no so sure this thing is ready yet. It seems like there are some improvements and testing that need to be done. For one, like another person said, where is the safety assurance? There’s no auto shutoff, so that concerns me as well. The speaker is so-so, the cooling isn’t bad, and the heating is nice. The extra cases are a plus too, so for now I’ll give it a chance and rate it 4/5.

This is my first smart pillow and I must say it is super cool! So many features from heating to cooling, I am a fan! It is easy to use and can even be used as a bluetooth speaker. So nice for listening to white noise. A really awesome product!
