    If you’re looking for the science behind sleep AND practical holistic tips on how to level up your sleeping (and therefore your life), I highly recommend this quick and easy read. I appreciated that this book was thorough and covered a wide variety of topics surrounding sleep without being too cumbersome. I’ve done a decent amount of research into sleep in recent years and I still learned plenty of new information.

    As a flight attendant who is constantly in and out of different time zones and battling weird sleep schedules, my favorite part of this book was learning about sleep cycles. It’s really reframed my thought process on 8 hours of sleep a night vs. 28-35 sleep cycles per week.

    If you have trouble sleeping, I recommend you read this book. It goes into detail about mental and physical ways of sleeping. I can’t wait to apply the action from this book for better sleeping habits.

    Dr. Burns continues to be an excellent author who finds VERY interesting subject material. Almost everyone could benefit from trying out his sleep methods and learning about how one’s body reacts to sleep or lacks thereof. He still could use a good copy editor, but has improved greatly. One area I am a bit concerned about (he always puts in one) is the sun gazing. DEFINITELY consult a healthcare professional before doing it. It can be quite dangerous for the eyes and AAO (American Academy of Ophthalmology) has some interesting things to say about it. I do plan to implement some of his ideas to improve my sleep habits. It is a bit too New Age for this old Christian Grandmother, but lots of young people are really into these things. I see nothing really dangerous in it except for the Sun Gazing. Good Job, Dr.

    I’ve done a lot of research on sleep over the past several years and consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable on strategies for better sleep, and I still learned a TON from this book!

    Dr. Burns writes in a way that is easy to digest while still providing immense value. You don’t need a medical background to understand this. Anybody can pick this up and improve their sleep from the insight shared in here.

    Also, beyond the sleep tips, he shares a lot of interesting info on the importance of sleep, sleep disorders, impact on mental health, etc. It’s all very informative and written in a way that is engaging!

    Really enjoyed reading this, but enjoyed the improved sleep even more.
