I bought this for my daughter but sent it back because it kept turning off and DID NOT help with her Tinnitus.
Ken Hecker –
I purchased this unit because I have a bad case of Tinnitus, and the capsules I bought haven’t done a thing. This sound generator has a LOT of built in sounds, on a micro USB card, and they seem to be useful. I even ordered the pillow with two speakers. Now if I can figure out how to use it without keeping my wife, of 53 years, awake.
My biggest question is how are these sounds suppose to help with the Tinnitus? There is a very large sheet of instructions, but that is totally because it has the same instructions in more languages that I ever thought existed.
I’ve even been to the Web site, but nowhere does it say how this is suppose to help. Maybe it is just suppose to drown out all other sounds, and effect your system in some way. I would think with the several doctors listed as developing this, there would be more help, even if only on the Web site.
I’ll give it a try. If nothing else, it is a nice source of soothing sounds, and doesn’t cost that much. I hope it does more.

She really likes it, helps her at night.

Product can be better for the money paid. There are others for less that work the same I believe. First off the usb cord that connects to back of radio fits loose and falls off any movement you make to it if not careful. This causes to have to reset clock again. annoying! The other and I think is most important is the led clock in front. The light is very dim and hard to see the time. There are adjustments to brighten but still not bright enough at highest setting. Don’t know why they have setting 1&2 it’s almost as if the light is off. The other are the numbers for the clock, they are not big enough especially for someone that wears glasses. I wouldn’t buy this product again. The sounds are good, and and sleep enhancement good but that’s all

Apart for help with tinnitus, I bought this primarily to act as a bedside clock. The clock is too dark to see in the night, and only illuminates if plugged in via the supplied usb cable and plug supplied. The usb connector was flimsy from day one, and packed up altogether after six months. Could not recommend based upon my experience. Amazon as usual want nothing to do any problems that arise after 30 days. Unfortunately the company also seems uncooperative, simply telling me to send it back and not telling me what they intend to do. Refund? Repair? As I’m loathe to go to the not inconsiderable expense of sending it back without a resolution being offered and whilst the item is still under guarantee (I believe the vendor should pay for the return of faulty goods) I guess I’m stuck with this duff, useless object.

Sound quality is excellent, I do not use the timer I let it run all night, unknown I would like it to be cheaper but who wouldn’t, very easy to use.
I am very pleased with my purchase.

I used to hate any sounds at night but when I suddenly lost my hearing in my left ear and all I could hear is air this machine going at night some how helps me sleep and relax and one thing they emphasize is keeping my limbic system drained and relaxed. This helps. They use this machine for army veterans my audiologist said.
Amazon Customer –
Some other devices make my tinnitus more unbearable. Only issue is too bright.

I bought this product to replace my existing Sound Oasis (which I had had for over 8 years and used every night.) So it had done well. Had a lot of use.
This model as you would imagine has improvements. It is a better, more sturdy design. There are buttons in place of the wheels / rotating dials for example. Also there are more sounds to choose from.
My main advice to prospective purchasers is literally; “Just read the instructions.” There are reviews here on Amazon that complain that the backlight for the clock is too dark. There are 3 brightness levels to choose from, plus completely off if you prefer. It is easy to set the time on the clock. There is an option to set an alarm. So you can wake up to your chosen sound, which increases in volume gradually to wake you. I need to wake up straight away so I use a different alarm clock. But it sounds a lovely idea.
There is still a timer, so that it will turn itself off after 30, 60, or 90 minutes. Or, you can have it on continuously. The choice is yours.
What I like most is that Sound Oasis have a website where you can download any of their 140+ sounds to your own Micro SD card. Or you can choose 12 or 24 sounds and get them to send you the Micro SD card. There is a discount code on the registration card.
My only problem has been getting my new “SoundAsleep” brand, speaker pillow, to play the sound from the Sound Oasis. My old “SoundAsleep” pillow works on it so I am perplexed. I am awaiting a reply from the “Comfy group” customer service team, who make the pillows on behalf of “Silentnight” to see what can be done. There is nothing wrong with the Sound Oasis, because you can hear the sound aloud, through headphones and through my old SoundAsleep pillow. Maybe a compatibility issue, I don’t know. I have contacted customer service at Sound Oasis for help.

I bought this as a replacement for my 10 year old Sound Oasis which finally ‘died’. This new one doesn’t work right, cable doesn’t connect properly, so it’s off and on constantly. Have to use batteries. Battery cover doesn’t fit properly with batteries in it. Sound quality is terrible. No comparison to my older one, which was amazing. I’m very very disappointed. This WAS an amazing sound machine. A decade ago. No longer able to set clock. Button quit working. Customer service was awesome about replacing my defective one. New one works great. I’m happy again.

Works so well for falling a sleep with my Tinnitus, well at least for 2.5 months!!! Then one night unit was dead…power cord was loose, plugged it in all the way and it made an awful squealing sound and fell out again. My plug is one of the so called universal shaped one. Don’t know why all the sudden it decided to get squerrly on me. ALSO, batteries…they are hard as hell to install and take back out! Sent in a return request, but reading reviews from all the different units they have listed with Amazon seems people have a lot of the same type of problems with no resolve. Don’t believe I’ll get satisfaction from seller. Really sucks, this isn’t a cheap product (at least price wise). So back to going to sleep in my recliner with the TV on…Amazon should check this seller and this product out. I believe sound Oasis is deceitful with their product and sales practices.
